Házak a Fák Között

Houses settle among tall trees in Házak a Fák Között, a composition by Hungarian modernist Scheiber Hugó. Rooftops peek through foliage, half hidden, half revealed. The palette runs deep green against warm ochre and muted brick, with trunks drawn as dark verticals cutting across the rooftops. Scheiber structures the scene in flat, layered planes, letting leaves and walls interlock like cut paper. Branches overlap chimneys and gables until architecture and canopy become one pattern. It suits a study or reading nook, somewhere quiet where the layered greens can hold their own against books and lamplight.
