Gulf of Naples

Bay water stretches pale and wide toward a hazy horizon in Gulf of Naples. Magnus Enckell renders the coast at rest, sailboats reduced to small dark flecks on a surface that barely ripples. Sunlight sits on the sea in thin, silvery strokes, and the shoreline rises in muted violets and dusty greens along the far edge of the bay. The brushwork stays loose and breathing, with soft transitions where water meets sky and no hard contour anywhere. Vesuvius reads as a low shadow on the horizon line, half dissolved into the atmosphere around it. A calm, airy presence for a hallway, a bright kitchen, or any room that asks for open water and distance.
