Grønt Hus, Enerhaugen

A green wooden house climbs the slope at Enerhaugen, its pale facade pressed against a bruised Oslo sky. Sohlberg paints the modest dwelling with the gravity of a monument. Every plank and pane reads clearly. The house front is rendered in muted viridian and chalky whites, window frames picked out in deeper green, the roofline cutting a hard diagonal against cloud. Shadow pools at the foundation while snowlight bounces up from below, doubling the glow across the timber. Slight distortions in perspective pull the viewer toward the doorway as if the street itself leans in. It suits a hallway or a quiet reading corner where Nordic atmosphere can hold the wall on its own.
