Green Lace

Birch twigs weave a filigree across open sky, every young leaf sharp at the serrated edge. Green Lace turns spring foliage into needlework, a lattice of light you can almost count. Rylov loads the brush wet, laying leaf color thick over paler yellow where sunlight bleeds through the blades. Behind the branches a clear northern blue runs almost white toward the horizon, and one strip of birch trunk shows its black chevron markings. Hang it where real light changes through the day, a sunroom, a stairwell window, or a study desk facing the garden.
