Great Spirit of Himalayas

A lone snowy summit fills the upper field, its peak pushed nearly to the top edge while vast slopes of unbroken white fall away beneath it. Great Spirit of Himalayas distills the range to its most essential form. Painted in tempera-like flat planes, the mountain reads as carved mass rather than atmosphere: chalk-white snow cut against cobalt and ultramarine sky, shadowed faces in cold violet, a thin luminous seam where light strikes the ridgeline. Below, low foothill bands in slate and dusk blue recede in quiet steps toward an empty valley floor. Nothing human interrupts the scene. A study, meditation corner, or high-ceilinged entryway gains a focal point of stillness from an image this spare and monumental.
