Graveyard Motif

Wooden crosses lean at odd angles across a hillside burial ground, drawn in Ciurlionis Graveyard Motif with a hand that treats death as quiet architecture rather than dread. The Lithuanian symbolist loved such sites. Here every marker tilts, every fence post slants, as if the whole graveyard were slowly settling into the earth. Muted browns and greys dominate. Bare trunks and crooked pickets crosshatch against a pale sky, and the ground itself is built from short, rhythmic strokes that suggest frozen soil or drifting leaves. Nothing mourns. The scene simply waits. It suits a study, a hallway, or any reading corner that welcomes solitary thought.
