Geraniums

Geraniums crowd the frame in this Koloman Moser composition, blossoms stacked in dense coral and crimson heads above broad, round leaves. Vienna Secession taste shows in every contour: petals reduced to flat discs of color, foliage edged in dark outline, the whole surface pressed into a decorative rhythm. Muted greens and warm reds sit close together, each flower catching light differently across the leafy mass. Suited to a sunroom, breakfast nook, or any corner that welcomes botanical subject matter with a designed, early twentieth century edge.
