Gegstad Manor

Gegstad manor sits low against the horizon, its timber gables and steep roofs rendered in warm browns and muted golds by Nicholas Roerich. A quiet estate, painted like a memory of northern farmland. Look closely and the brushwork tells the season: grey-green meadow in short vertical strokes, a dirt track leading the eye toward the house, birch trunks picked out in pale bone white. The sky above burns in soft apricot and dusty rose, flattening the whole scene into calm symmetry. Suited to a study or hallway where evening light falls, lending the room the stillness of a Scandinavian dusk.
