Fuji from Miho no Matsubara

Mount Fuji rises above a dark sweep of pine, the Miho coastline spread beneath it. Shotei Takahashi sets the peak against a pale sky, snowline crisp at the summit. The pines crowd the foreground in deep indigo, their trunks bent by salt wind. Waves break in small white combs along the shore, and thin haze softens the distant cone. Cool blues dominate; only the sand carries warmth. A quiet corner for a study or reading nook, where a long horizon rewards a slow look.
