French Embankment

River water laps at the foot of a tall stone quay in French embankment, the riverside scene Anna Ostroumova-Lebedeva set down in cut line and layered tonal ink. Dressed granite blocks climb the parapet, each joint defined in clean black. Iron mooring rings hang from the masonry. Below, barge hulls fold their reflections into ripple, and crosshatched shadow pools beneath a bridge arch. Rooftops stay faint against bare paper. A quiet study or narrow hallway suits it, somewhere the muted greys and still water can hold the eye between busier furnishings.
