Fotieva Road

A rutted dirt track climbs away through open country, pale under a high sky: Fotieva Road, laid down by Pyotr Konchalovsky in loaded, unhurried strokes of oil. Paint sits thick across the surface, bristle marks dragging ochre into the wheel ruts and stacking meadow green along both verges.
