Forest Creek

Shallow water threads between grey boulders, catching the only light in a dense northern wood. Forest creek by Ferdynand Ruszczyc sets a narrow stream against deep forest shadow. Thick oil strokes build the moss on every stone, wet greens layered over cold grey rock. White foam breaks where the current drops. Across the water, broken reflections of spruce trunks and pale sky drift on the moving surface, while ferns crowd the shadowed near bank. A study or reading nook with panelled walls and low light suits its hushed greens; it also holds its own above a console in a dim hallway.
