Folyóparti Táj

Moored boats ride a slow current in Folyóparti Táj. Scheiber Hugó composed the Hungarian riverside scene in oil with quick, loaded brushwork. Olive green and deep blue govern the river. Cream dabs flicker where light skids over the flow. Trees mass along the near shore in dark verticals, foliage dragged wet into sky, and the opposite bank softens to hazy violet. A study with dark shelves suits it well. Cool water and open sky give an entryway or reading nook a calm horizon of its own.
