Folyóparti Fák 1920

Trees line a riverbank in Folyóparti Fák, a landscape by Hungarian modernist Scheiber Hugó. Water runs calm along the lower edge while slender trunks rise in close ranks against the sky. The foliage breaks into planes of sap green and deep olive, stacked in short confident strokes. Reflections ripple below in soft blue-grey, and light catches the gaps between branches.
