Flowers

Petals and stems fill the frame in Arthur Segal Flowers, a still life of cut blooms pressed into rhythmic, almost architectural shapes. Nothing here drifts. Each blossom is built, not sketched. The color surface carries Segal modernist hand: planes of terracotta and olive green butt against cream petals, outlines thick and deliberate like woodcut blocks. Stems cross at hard angles, and the blooms read as faceted forms rather than soft botanical studies, their texture dense with layered pigment. Suited to a dining room or sitting room where strong modernist color can hold its own.
