Fire Paternoster

Coils of scarlet flame twist upward in a single unbroken column, each curl counted like a bead. Nicholas Roerich titled it Fire paternoster, and the prayer rhythm sits plainly in the spiral. The ground is deep indigo, matte as dry fresco, and against it the blaze glows in vermilion and gold orange, cores paling to white where heat is strongest. Crosshatched brushwork tightens every coil, while thin bands of smoke gray divide one turn from the next. It suits a study or a dim hallway, anywhere a long look can follow the rising line the way a rosary follows a thumb.
