About this work

Finale (Sonata of the Sea)

Waves rise in green and teal columns toward a sun disc pressed flat against the sky. This is Finale, the closing movement of the Sonata of the Sea by Lithuanian artist Mikalojus Konstantinas Ciurlionis. Foam breaks into lacework at the crest of each swell, painted in layered tempera tones where cobalt sinks into pale aquamarine and shell white. Thin vertical strokes suggest sea grass and spray, while the glowing disc hovers like a bell rung once. Everything moves upward and outward, water resolved into rhythm. Hang it in a living room or music room where sound and color trade places.

Frequently asked

Yes. It arrives stretched over a solid wood frame, ready to hang, with the hanging hardware included.

Dust it gently with a soft, dry cloth and keep it out of direct sunlight.

Pick the size that suits your wall and furniture. If you are unsure between two, the larger one usually looks better than expected.

Each piece is made to order and shipped free with tracking, usually within a couple of weeks depending on your location. See our shipping policy for details.

Usually not, but international orders can occasionally be subject to local import fees set by your country. Anything like that is set by customs, not by us.

As each piece is made to order, we do not accept change-of-mind returns. If it arrives damaged or faulty, email support@auvrique.com within 7 days and we will put it right. See our refund policy.
