Ferris Wheel in the Tuileries

The great wheel rises over the Tuileries gardens, its iron ribs drawn against a Paris sky. Pierre Dubreuil catches the moment of ascent, gondolas hanging like dark beads on a silver thread. Below, chestnut trees blur into soft masses while the wheel stays razor sharp, every strut and cross-brace legible in the photograph. Light skims the metal, so the structure reads almost lace-thin, a lattice of shadow and glare hovering above strollers and gravel paths. It belongs in a study or a hallway with tall windows, somewhere the vertical sweep can breathe among books, maps, and quiet iron-and-glass furnishings.
