Feodosia

Harbor water fills the lower third of Feodosia, painted by Konstantin Bogaevsky in his signature Cimmerian mode. Masts and rigging stand thin against a hazy bay, the town rising behind them in pale stone tiers. Above the port, jagged rock formations climb in violet and rust, ridges sharpened by a sky that glows greenish gold at the horizon. Bogaevsky renders the Genoese towers and curved shoreline with hard, clean contour lines, then floods the air itself with that strange luminous haze found only in his Crimean seascapes. Shadows pool cool and blue between the cliffs while the rooftops catch a warm amber edge. A study, a library reading corner, or a hallway with good natural light would suit it well.
