Feodosia

Feodosia unfolds across the sheet like a harbor seen from high ground, rooftops and towers massed along a curved shoreline. Konstantin Bogaevsky builds the Crimean port in layers of pale stone and sea light. Walls climb in chalky grey and warm ivory, their crenellations drawn with fine, dark hatching. Below, the water holds a muted blue-green, catching the towers in long, broken reflections. Hills behind the town rise in soft olive and dusty gold, slopes dotted with cypress and low fortifications. Small figures, boats, and breakwaters give the scene a lived-in scale, each stroke deliberate and dry. A study or library wall suits its quiet architectural weight, especially beside maps, travel books, or objects of carved stone.
