Existence, Wooden Bed Panel

A figure at rest anchors the sculpted surface of Existence, a wooden bed panel by Georges Lacombe, where waves, foliage, and human form move together in one flowing rhythm. Lacombe worked the wood in shallow relief, and chisel gouges still read across every ridge, catching light along each curve. Long sinuous lines wrap the composition, a stylized tree rising behind the resting body, water scrolling below, the whole surface toned in honey and deep umber. Bedrooms and quiet reading nooks suit it best, anywhere the deep-cut rhythm can be studied at leisure in low evening light.
