Draft for the space of the Austrian State Printing House, drawn for the London exhibition, puts the printed page itself on a pedestal. Koloman Moser arranges the commission as architecture, a hall where typography becomes ornament. Look closely and the drawing reads as a facade in elevation: tall bays, squared panels, a frieze of interlocking rectangles above the doorway. Moser grids the wall like a case of metal type, each cell given its own geometric motif, rosette or meander, inked in confident line against pale ground. Gold and black accents sit flat, no shadow, pure Secession geometry. Hangs well in a study or hallway where strong vertical order and graphic pattern give a room its backbone.
