Dia de Chuva em Ponte de Lima

Rain falls over the old bridge at Ponte de Lima, its arches doubled in wet stone below. Dia de Chuva em Ponte de Lima by Antonio Carneiro sets a grey Portuguese sky against the shine of a soaked river town. Umbrellas bloom along the waterfront in muted violet, ochre and slate. Figures hunch past whitewashed facades, their reflections broken on the cobbles, while the Lima slides beneath the medieval span in cold silver and green.
