Dance

Two figures pivot through the frame, limbs bent into angular arcs, the motion of the dance caught mid-step. Villon treats the body as a system of planes and lines. Cool greys and muted blues dominate, cut through with crosshatching that thickens where the shadows fall. The composition tilts, energy pulling diagonally across the surface, heads simplified, torsos faceted like cut stone. Every contour does work. Suited to a stairwell, hallway, or anywhere movement should meet the eye on the way past.
