A stage curtain drawn back onto a lamplit proscenium, painted by Konstantin Somov for the cover of a theater program made for the Theatre de L Hermitage. Gold and rose rule the composition. Gilded scrollwork frames the top edge, while a garland of pale blossoms curves along the base. Fine crosshatching builds shadow under the drapery folds, and inked lettering sits squarely at center, a ticket to an evening of ballet and cabaret.
