Country Landscape

Rolling fields unfold beneath a broad, cloud-washed sky in Guy Roses Country Landscape. Sunlight breaks across the hills in patches of gold and sage, and a lone tree anchors the middle distance like a dark sentry. The brushwork is loose and creamy, oil laid in thick dabs that let grass, fence line, and distant treeline dissolve into one another. Soft violets cool the shadows along the field edges, while warm ochre carries the light through the open ground. A dirt track curves toward the horizon, drawing the eye deep into the quiet farmland.
