Corona Astralis

A radiant corona hovers above a barren, rocky horizon, its ring of light pressing down on the land below. Corona Astralis is one of Konstantin Bogaevsky strangest and most commanding visions. The halo burns in pale gold and bone white, edged with a cold outer glow that thins into the smoky violet of the sky. Beneath it, craggy cliffs in slate and umber throw long shadows, their eroded forms carved by wind rather than water. Small dark figures on the valley floor give the scale away: the ring of light dwarfs everything human. A dim hallway or stairwell landing suits it well, where the glow reads strongest against darker walls.
