Construction with Belltower

A belltower rises through a lattice of ruled compartments, the way Torres Garcia organized everything he saw into geometric order. Construction with belltower turns a village silhouette into architecture of pure structure. Flat planes of ochre, slate blue and bone white sit inside drawn grids, each shape locked against its neighbor like stones in a wall. Broken diagonals and fish, sun and anchor symbols wander through the compartments, his signature vocabulary of universal signs. Black outlines hold the composition taut, closer to mosaic setting than to brushwork. It suits a study or a hallway where structured, contemplative images reward a long look.
