Comrie, Perthshire

Comrie in Perthshire rises through Peploe in low green hills and a pale Scottish sky, the village settled along the water where two rivers meet at the foot of the glen. Oil paint laid in firm, blocky strokes gives the fields their texture, meadow green pushed against violet shadow and a sliver of white tumbling through the trees. Rooftops sit small and warm ochre in the middle distance, dwarfed by broad sky that takes up most of the surface. Cloud grey softens into cream at the horizon. A landscape this quiet and open suits a study or a hallway where light falls for most of the day.
