Colette

A narrow head rises on a long neck, the face smoothed to one plain egg with a single ridge for the nose. Brâncuși named her Colette, a portrait pared to essentials. Cast bronze takes a warm brown under daylight; the patina deepens at the throat while crown and cheekbone catch a soft glint. The mouth is barely a change in plane, the hairline a clean sweeping arc, everything tapering toward a small block of a base. An entryway, a study, or a quiet bedroom corner suits her; place her where side light can play along the neck.
