Coastal Wildflowers

Yellow and lavender blooms press against the foreground, a slope of California wildflowers meeting salt air. Granville Redmond names the painting plainly: Coastal Wildflowers. Look closer and the brushwork does the work. Short dabs of cadmium yellow and dusty violet sit over cool green stems, while the sea behind stays a quiet band of gray blue.
