Cloud

A single cloud dominates the sky, swollen and pale against a deepening band of horizon. Roerich gives the vapor the weight of architecture, a drifting form treated with the gravity of a mountain. The palette runs to cool violets and slate blue over warmer ground tones, brushwork broad and layered so the cloud edge seems to glow from within.
