About this work

Cliffs at Fecamp in Normandy

Chalk cliffs of Fecamp rise white against a cold Channel sky in this Gustave Loiseau seascape. The artist built the rock faces from thick, loaded strokes of cream and grey, letting the paint itself carry the crumbly weight of Norman stone. Look at how the sea meets the land: bands of slate blue and green churn at the cliff base, while foam breaks in short dabs of pure white. Above, the sky scuds in long horizontal pulls, pale where the light flattens, deeper blue where cloud thins. Suited to a hallway or seaside cottage living room where coastal subjects feel at home.

Yes — it arrives stretched over a solid wood frame and ready to hang, with hanging hardware included.

Dust it gently with a soft, dry cloth and keep it out of direct sunlight.

Pick the size that suits your wall and furniture. If you are unsure between two, the larger one usually looks better than expected.

Each piece is made to order and shipped free with tracking, usually within a couple of weeks depending on your location. See our shipping policy for details.

Usually not, but international orders can occasionally be subject to local import fees set by your country. Anything like that is set by customs, not by us.

As each piece is made to order, we do not accept change-of-mind returns. If it arrives damaged or faulty, email support@auvrique.com within 7 days and we will put it right. See our refund policy.
