Chair design

A tall chair back rises in the drawing, its lattice of squared rungs climbing toward a small ovoid finial. Charles Rennie Mackintosh sets the whole structure against an empty ground, so the silhouette does all the talking. Ink line sits over faint pencil, and the geometry reads almost architectural, like a facade reduced to furniture. Pale washes cool the paper around the frame. Thin verticals and one round crest rail give the design its spine. It suits a hallway or studio corner where clean lines matter.
