Capri coast

Faraglioni rocks rise from a turquoise sea on the Capri coast, painted by Vartan Mahokian. Cliffs climb in limestone gray and sun-bleached gold, their faces cut by shadowed crevices and low scrub. The water shifts from pale green near the shore to deep ultramarine offshore, worked in short, layered brushstrokes that catch the glare of midday. Boats sit low at anchor, hulls reduced to dark strokes against the light. A lemon grove and whitewashed houses cling to the upper slope, small against the rock. This seascape suits a sunroom, hallway, or any bright room that faces the afternoon light.
