Budai Hegyek

Rounded hills roll across the sheet in Budai Hegyek, Scheiber Hugó and his take on the Buda ridge above the Danube. He treats the familiar skyline of Budapest as pure pattern. Slopes stack in graded planes of moss green, olive and dusty blue, their contours pressed flat into overlapping arcs. Trees reduce to stippled clusters, rooftops to small geometric marks, and the sky reads as a quiet band of pale wash above the crest. Every edge stays crisp where one color field meets the next. Hung in a study or a hallway, it turns a Hungarian modernist view of the Buda Hills into a daily landscape of calm geometry.
