Brahmaputra

The great river sweeps through the valley floor, a broad band of molten silver cutting between dark foothills. Brahmaputra captures Roerich at his most elemental, where water and mountain meet under a high Himalayan sky. Cobalt peaks crowd the horizon, their snowfields rendered in thick, cool strokes. The river itself runs pale against deep umber banks, catching light the way glacial melt does at evening. Distant ridges fade into violet haze, each plane cooler than the last. A study, a hallway, any quiet room with room for horizon. The eye travels upstream and keeps going.
