Bouquet of Wildflowers

Cornflowers and oxeye daisies crowd a simple glass jar, their stems tangled with meadow grass. Bouquet of wildflowers by Pyotr Konchalovsky gathers a whole summer roadside into one armful. Konchalovsky loads the brush heavy, dragging buttery oil paint across the surface so each petal has real body. Scarlet poppies burn against cobalt cornflower blue, while daisies hold their cream color over a deep, shadowed ground. The foliage is laid in with wet, sap green strokes. A kitchen breakfast nook, a sunroom, or a hallway that needs color would suit it; anywhere the eye passes daily, the bouquet reads fresh.
