Dahlias, poppies and daisies crowd a stoneware pitcher, their petals painted with the thick, unapologetic brushwork Suzanne Valadon brought to every canvas she touched. Deep greens and crushed rose reds sit against a plain ground, the blooms slightly unruly, leaning past the rim as if still growing.
