White birch trunks rise through the picture plane, their bark scored with dark lenticels and pale shadow. Birches. Petrovskoye by Konstantin Yuon captures a Russian estate grove in full summer dress. Yuon, a master of the Russian landscape tradition, gives each trunk its own lean and gesture.
