Birch Trees

Slender birch trunks cross the frame at quiet angles, their bark broken into pale lozenges of cream and charcoal. This work by Kimon Loghi reads as pure northern forest light. Crowns of small olive and lemon leaves scatter across the upper canvas, thinning to sky. Dabs of paint sit thick on the trunks, and between the trees the ground dissolves into soft greens and warm shadow. Every mark stays loose and breathed, the way foliage actually moves. A calm subject for a hallway, a reading nook, or any wall that needs a window into open woodland.
