Birch Forest

White trunks rise through a green lattice of leaves. Birch Forest by Konstantin Yuon turns a stand of Russian woodland into a study of light, each pale trunk banded with dark bark slashes. Slender birches lean at slight angles, their white bark catching shafts of sun while the canopy above dissolves into dappled emerald and olive. Shadows pool cool and violet at the root line. Yuon paints the forest floor as a soft carpet of grass and fern, giving the whole scene the hushed air of a summer afternoon deep in the trees. Well suited to a reading nook or a sunlit hallway, where its greenery can breathe.
