Bell Mountain

The summit swells in one smooth curve above a high Himalayan skyline, snow drawn so evenly it reads as carved chalk. Nicholas Roerich named the peak for that shape: Bell Mountain. Tempera builds the slopes layer over thin layer, until the blue goes dense as lapis at the base and thins to pale violet where the air begins. Snow caps the crest in one unbroken sweep of white, dry brushstrokes left open on the surface. A quiet study or a hallway that catches morning light suits it best; the deep blues hold their own against pale plaster and plain wood.
