Beaumes unfolds as a sunlit hillside village, houses clustered in warm ochre and cream against a rising slope of green. Roger Fry builds the scene through patches of color rather than outline, letting rooftops and terraces merge into a single rhythmic pattern. Shadow pools in cool violet beneath the buildings, while cypress forms anchor the composition in deep green. The brushwork stays loose and deliberate, each block of pigment holding its own weight within the whole.
