Beach at Heist

Pale zinc white pigment opens Beach at Heist, Georges Lemmen, laid across the canvas in short, deliberate strokes that mimic the flat gleam of the North Sea at low tide. Lemmen builds the shore from dot and dash, pointillist marks of mauve, oyster grey, and faded turquoise stacking until the water shimmers without a single contour line.
