Autumn Bouquet

Dahlia heads crowd a squat earthenware jug, petals in oxblood, amber, and fading rose. Autumn bouquet by Pyotr Konchalovsky gathers the whole season into one overflowing armful of flowers. Paint sits thick on the surface, each petal built from loaded strokes of cadmium orange and claret. Asters and late roses fill the gaps, a fallen leaf or two drifts across the table, and the dark umber ground pushes every bloom forward.
