Seed heads of wild carrot press against the light, each floret a small geometry of stalks and buds. Karl Blossfeldt photographed this plant form for Art Forms in Nature, enlarging it until the umbel reads as architecture. The grayscale tonality holds every stage of bloom at once: open flowers flat as lace across the crown, closed buds clenched beneath them like fists, a web of thin stems radiating from a single jointed node.
