A tight rosette of succulent leaves fills the frame, each pointed tip curving outward like a green fountain caught mid-spray. Karl Blossfeldt photographed plant forms against flat neutral ground, magnifying them until a common garden subject reads as architecture. Pale silver light slides across the ridged leaf surfaces, and deep shadow pools in the center where the foliage converges. Every serration and vein stands in crisp focus, the tonal range running from ash grey to near black.
