Seed pods split open in perfect halves, their inner chambers lined with a fringe of fine hairs that catch the light along every edge. Karl Blossfeldt photographed the specimen at several times its natural size, turning a humble dried capsule into something closer to a carved capital. The tonal range runs from deep charcoal shadow to pale silver grey across the ridged outer shell, and the symmetrical profile holds the frame with an almost architectural certainty.
