A single dried stem of Eryngium rises through the frame, its spiky flower head crowning a column of stiff, ribbed leaves. Karl Blossfeldt photographed the plant against a plain ground, letting every barb and ridge read as architecture. The tones run cool silver into deep charcoal. Each leaf clamps the stem at regular intervals, jointed like a mechanical fitting, while the flower head bursts into a haze of fine needles. Focus falls off gently at the edges, keeping the center sharp and sculptural. This botanical study suits a hallway or home office, anywhere a calm, precise subject rewards a long look.
